Nanotyrannosaurus (or Nanotyrannus, NAH-no-TY-ran-oh-SAW-rus, NAH-no-TY-rannus Meaning Small Tyrant Lizard) was a tyrannosaurid theropod dinosaur that lived in the Late Cretaceous Period and was discovered in North America and was discovered by Charles W. Gilmore in 1946. Nanotyrannosaurus was the smallest known tyrannosaurid before extinction.
